Mabton Bickleton Ride April 30, 2005

Jennifer, at the Bickleton Market Street Café, had a long table that sat all 14 of us. Almost everyone ordered breakfast platters. Some went for the 'home made peach cobbler with a scoop of ice cream'. Jennifer brought in extra help to prepare for our arrival and service was first rate. Every one had a wonderful time, so we are going back in October. Mark Sauerwein, an attendant and thoughtful ride host, was thanked enthusiastically by all.

We had a support vehicle and several mentioned it was one of the best club rides ever. The scenery was great, the road surface smooth and two descents on the way back a thrill. Riders complimented the locals, "they gave us a full lanes berth, waved and smiled at us. When have you ever seen that?" It seemed that the handful of cars or trucks we saw, knew we would be on the road and looked forward to our coming. A couple riders saw deer crossing the road ahead of them. It was one of the few days of the year that the wind didn't scream up the Gorge. Bruce, Shane, Brad, Brian, Matt, Donny, Mike, Tony, Denise, Russ, Carla, Mark, Miguel and Tito went along.
